The Virginia Barrel Classic was founded in 2013 by Carlton, Heath, and Mark Tomlin—along with their families—with a simple but powerful vision: to create a family-friendly barrel racing event that delivers a truly professional experience and substantial payouts. What began as that vision has grown into one of the region’s most respected barrel racing events. None of this would be possible without the dedication of our riders, owners, parents, grandparents, sponsors, vendors, and our exceptional show staff.
No membership is required to compete at the Virginia Barrel Classic—everyone is welcome. We proudly offer classes for Open, Youth, Senior, and, of course, the crowd favorite: Pee Wee barrels.
Since 2013, the Virginia Barrel Classic has hosted or sanctioned events with many of the sport’s most recognized organizations, including NBHA, IBRA, WPRA, BBR, Da Bomb Barrel Racing, GTBRA, NBHA Virginia State Finals, and The American Qualifier.
Over the years, we have also been honored to host a wide range of premier incentives, such as Future Fortunes, Tomorrow’s Legends, Triple Crown 100, The Diamond Classic, Legends of the South, Pink Buckle/Ruby Buckle, The “Non-Incentive” Horse, The “Open” Horse, Future Fortunes Mama’s Money, and Tomorrow’s Legends Legendary Mamas.
